At a distance, we tried to communicate.

A 10m2 space filled with a bullroarer and a light bulb, spinning in different velocities and radios.

The bullroarer, rhombus, or turndun, is an ancient ritual musical instrument and a device historically used for communicating over greatly extended distances. It dates to the Paleolithic period, being found in Ukraine dating from 17,000 BC.

Ukraine happens to be the place where my grandmother was born. No one from my family has ever been there. She never returned. The current political situation makes it difficult for me to go now.
